What my clients say
Here is what some of my clients are saying:
“I recently contracted with April FitzGerald for a complete edit of my fiction manuscript. April is extremely professional from the first exploratory conversation through the contract and editing phases. I opted for a Super Edit that included detailed proof-reading and line editing and in depth critique of plot, dialogue, character development and general organization.
April made the entire process easy and enjoyable. Although it wasn’t in our contract, she periodically emailed me to report her progress or to clarify certain points. Most importantly, the final product has been extremely useful and enlightening. She gave excellent suggestions in all areas including significant help in handling my multiple POVs, and ideas for improving sensory detail.
Several of my colleagues have also used book editors and in comparing notes, I feel that April offers more in depth editing than most editors and her fees are quite reasonable.
I wouldn’t hesitate to seek feedback from April for future work.”

“I belong to the Florida Writer’s Association, and the Gainesville Writer’s Group. A couple of months ago, April FitzGerald did a critique on my current unpublished novel, Power Down, which is a mystery involving a female protagonist. April did a marvelous job and revealed … problems I have with my writing. One of them is my tendency to “tell, not show” action.
This knowledge catapulted me to reworking another one of my novels, Flicker of Freedom, (working title) which has since been contracted by a mainstream publisher.
Thanks, April, for helping me see where my writing needed work!”

“April wrote articles for a major publication that is distributed to over 50,000 alumnae from our college. Her articles were accurate, inviting, and interesting to read. She took a subject matter and turned it into engaging experiences for the reader. I would hire her again!”

“Although I have never met April FitzGerald in person I got to interact with her on the telephone when she was working for the University of Florida and called me for an interview. She had been assigned to write a bio article for the U of F Quaterly Magazine. Her professionalism and true love for what she was doing became quickly apparent. I can honestly say the interview went well and her article that I saw about … one month after the interview brought a smile and a tear to my face. She had caught in a relatively short interview the essence of my life. She is a professional to the nth degree.”

“I had the pleasure of hiring April FitzGerald as a copywriter on an important project for Tillman Hartley Financial Management Company. After initial discussions with TH, I decided the best strategy was to bring in a professional copywriter who had sensitivity to unique and sophisticated messaging. April was a great team player in subsequent meetings. She provided a strong conceptual copy deck to enhance a series of illustrations that told the story of “The science of investment”.
Throughout the process, working with April was a joy! She made the project sing. The clients were delighted. It’s great to have such a professional resource close by.
April gets it.”

“April designed the Commercial Pool Technician Handbook and did a great job. She is a pro in all respects and knows how to work with a team and how to work alone (a rare combination). We look forward to working with April in the future.”

In regard to one of my works-in-progress:
“GARGH! That’s it? Where’s the rest? I want to read the remainder of the novel!
So I just finished the slip of a short story you sent me. You are going to write the rest of the novel, aren’t you? It’s mysterious, well written, and I had mixed emotions for both characters (that’s a good thing, IMHO).”
